कुलदीप यादव ने सबसे पहले वॉर्नर को अपना शिकार बनाया. कुलदीप ने वॉर्नर (56) को रहाणे के हाथों कैच करा अपना पहला अंतर्राष्ट्रीय विकेट हासिल किया. पहला विकेट लेने के बाद कुलदीप थोड़े भावुक हो गए और रहाणे से कुछ देर तक लिपटे रहे.

इसके बाद कुलदीप ने पीटर हैंड्सकॉम्ब (8) को अपनी फिरकी में फंसाकर बोल्ड कर दिया और फिर ग्लैन मैक्सवेल (8) को एक खूबसूरत गेंद पर बोल्ड कर पवेलियन की राह दिखा दी इसके बाद तीसरे सेशन में कुलदीप ने पैट कमिंस (21) को कॉट एंड बोल्ड कर अपना चौथा शिकार बनाया.
