Today in History, 19 August: 1757 में आज East India Company ने कोलकाता में रुपये का पहला सिक्का बनाया था. बंगाल के नवाब के साथ एक संधि के तहत East India Company ने 1757 में ही टकसाल खोली थी..ये वो जगह होती है जहां रुपये और सिक्के बनाए जाते हैं.

19 August in History: Today in 1757 the East India Company made the first coin of rupee in Kolkata. Under a treaty with the Nawab of Bengal, the East India Company had opened a mint in 1757 itself. This is the place where rupees and coins are made.
