सुरक्षाबलों ने बुधवार को आतंकियों के खिलाफ सर्च ऑपरेशन शुरू किया था. इसी दौरान आतंकियों ने अंधाधुंध फायरिंग कर दी. इसमें सेना के मेजर आशीष शहीद हो गए थे.
