2014 तक केजरीवाल रहने के लिए एक छोटा सा फ्लैट देने की मांग कर रहे थे. लेकिन बाद में खुद 2015 में इस सरकारी बंगले में शिफ्ट हो गए. सबसे ज्यादा हैरानी की बात ये है कि जब कोविड के समय में दिल्ली के लोग अस्पतालों में बेड के लिए संघर्ष कर रहे थे तब केजरीवाल अपने बंगले पर करोड़ों खर्च कर रहे थे.
