पहले चौसा गांव के किसान कंपनी के आसपास नजर आए, फिर तोड़फोड़ और उपद्रव शुरू हो गया. जब तक पुलिस हालात पर काबू पाती तब तक पावर प्लांट की कंपनी और प्रशासन का लाखों का नुकसान हो चुका था. पुलिस वालों ने आधी रात को घर में घुसकर लोगों और महिलाओं की ऐसी पिटाई की कि पूरा गांव आक्रोशित हो गया.
