लगभग तीन महीने से चल रहे युद्ध में यूक्रेन ने दक्षिण का एक किला गंवा दिया है. रूसी हमलों से खंडहर में बदल चुके मारियुपोल में यूक्रेन की आखिरी टुकड़ी ने भी सरेंडर कर दिया है. इनमें बड़ी संख्या में जख्मी सैनिक भी हैं जिन्हें मारियुपोल से निकालकर रूस के समर्थन वाले अलगाववादियों के इलाके में ले जाया गया है. मारियुपोल पर जीत के बाद अब रूसी सेना के पास अजोव सागर से लेकर खारकीव तक का एक बड़ा इलाका कब्जे में है और उसका लैंड कॉरिडोर वाला सपना पूरा होता दिख रहा है. यूक्रेन रूस की जंग को अब दो महीने होने को हैं, जंग की तीव्रता में कमी के कोई आसार नहीं दिख रहे हैं.
