मुंबई में पिछले कुछ दिनों से एक अफवाह उड़ रही है कि विक्रोली में बेघरों को मुफ्त में जमीन मिल रही है. इसके बाद यहां धीरे-धीरे काफी लोगों की भीड़ इकठ्ठी होनी शुरू हो गई. बीएमसी ने पुलिस के साथ लोगों को हटवाया पर कुछ लोग अब भी तंबू लगाकर वहां जमीन पाने की आस में डटे हुए हैं. अफवाह ये उड़ी थी सैकड़ों एकड़ की जमीन का मालिक मर गया है और उसकी बेटी गरीबों को जमीन बांट रही है. एक अफवाह ये भी थी कि जिन लोगों ने जमीन पर अतिक्रमण किया हुआ है और उन्हें जमीन फ्री दी जा रही है. ये सरकारी जमीन है. इस मामले में फिलहाल कोई शिकायत दर्ज नहीं की गई है.
Over past few weeks hundreds of people encroached on a government land in Vikhroli, Mumbai after rumours that it is being given for free to the poor. The land, spread in several acres is situated on JVLR link road near Tagore Nagar, Vikhroli.According to local authorities, people who occupied the land recieved two different messages, one that the land is being provided for free and other that the owner of the plot has died and his daughter is offering the land to poor in memory of her father. After which slowly people around the area starter marking plots for themselves bamboo sticks and cloth on their respective plot.
