जेएनयू कई बौद्धिक आंदोलन की गवाह रही है. यहां पर भारत के हर कोने से छात्र पढ़ने आते हैं. जेएनयू के छात्रों में वैचारिक मतभेद भले ही हों लेकिन इसकी वजह से कभी कैंपस में हिंसा नहीं हुई. लेकिन पिछले कुछ सालों में यहां की संस्कृति तेजी से बदली है. अब इस संस्कृति में हिंसा ने भी अपनी जगह बना ली. ऐसी ही तस्वीर 80 के दशक में भी जेएनयू में देखने को मिली थी. लेकिन तब कहानी कुछ और थी. देखें वीडियो.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was established in 1969 during the Congress tenure. JNU is in limelight again after a masked mob went on a rampage inside the university campus on January 5, injuring many students and teachers.
