राजनीति में अपराधीकरण का ग्राफ लगातार बढ़ता जा रहा है औऱ राजनीतिक दलों में ऐसे दागी नेताओं की भीड़ को शामिल करने की होड़ लगी हुई है. जबकि आम जनता शुरू से ही ये मांग करती रही है कि आपराधिक छवि के लोगों को चुनाव लड़ने की अनुमति नहीं होनी चाहिए. लेकिन न तो सरकार ने और न ही राजनीतिक दलों ने ऐसे लोगों को बायकॉट करने में कोई दिलचस्पी दिखाई. लोकतंत्र की लाज और मर्यादा रखने के लिए अब सुप्रीम कोर्ट को हस्तक्षेप करना पड़ा है. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने बेहद तल्ख लहजे में कहा है कि आपराधिक छवि के लोगों को कानून बनाने की अनुमति नहीं दी जानी चाहिए. ऐसे में सवाल है कि क्या सरकार और राजनीतिक दलों ने जिस तरह से ओबीसी आरक्षण संशोधन बिल को पास करवा दिया, क्या उसी तरह से आपराधिक छवि वाले नेताओं की राजनीति में एंट्री बैन के लिए कानून बनाएंगे. देखिए खोज खबर.
In a step towards decriminalising politics, the Supreme Court directed that political parties must publish the criminal antecedents of candidates within 48 hours of their selection. The Supreme Court was hearing a contempt plea seeking action against political parties which failed to declare and publicise criminal antecedents of their candidates.
