2018 में चुनाव के बाद जब विवाद था कि राजस्थान में मुख्यमंत्री कौन बनेगा. तब सीएम की कुर्सी अशोक गहलोत को मिली थी. दो साल बाद 2020 में दावा है कि कुछ विधायकों के साथ सचिन पायलट ने गहलोत सरकार गिरानी चाही लेकिन हाईकमान की दखल के बाद पायलट लौट आए. 2022 में जब अशोक गहलोत के कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष बनने से पहले पायलट को सीएम बनाने की चर्चा हुई तब बगावत गहलोत के गुट ने कर दी.
