महंत नरेंद्र गिरि के नाम से पुलिस को जो सुसाइड नोट मिला उसमें शिष्य आनंद गिरि को हनुमान मंदिर के पुजारी को आरोपी बताया है. उन्हें डर था कि तस्वीर से उन्हें बदनाम किया जाएगा. उनके 8 पेज का सुसाइड नोट में महंत नरेंद्र गिरि ने कुछ लोगों को अपनी मौत के लिए जिम्मेदार बताते हुए सरकार से उनके खिलाफ कार्रवाई की अपील की है. पुलिस के मुताबिक जिस कमरे से महंत नरेंद्र गिरि की लाश मिली है, उस कमरे का दरवाज़ा अंदर से बंद था. कमरे के इर्द गिर्द सीसीटीवी कैमरे भी इसकी पुष्टि कर रहे हैं. मठ या कमरे में किसी संदिग्ध के आने-जाने के भी कोई सुराग नहीं मिले हैं. नायलोन की जिस रस्सी से महंत नरेंद्र गिरि की लाश झूल रही थी, वो रस्सी भी एक दिन पहले रविवार को खुद नरेंद्र गिरि ने ही मंगवाई थी. यूपी पुलिस के एक आला अफ़सर के मुताबिक कमरे से बरामद नोट की लिखावट और नरेंद्र गिरि की हैंडराइटिंग सरसरी तौर पर एक जैसी ही नज़र आ रही थी. इससे भी पुलिस ये मान कर चल रही है कि मामला खुदकुशी का ही है. हालांकि पक्के तौर पर इसका खुलासा तभी होगा, जब पोस्टमार्टम रिपोर्ट सामने आएगी. देखें मामले में दर्ज FIR.

The suicide note recovered by Prayagraj Police names Anand Giri as one of the accused pushing him to the extent of dying by suicide. The rope with which Mahant Narendra Giri's body was found hanging was also ordered by Narendra Giri himself a day earlier on Sunday. According to a top officer of UP Police, the handwriting of the note recovered from the room and Narendra Giri's handwriting looked almost identical.
