आर्थिक रूप से कमजोर वर्ग को मिले आरक्षण पर सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मुहर लगा दी है. चीफ जस्टिस यूयू ललित की अगुवाई वाली जजों की पीठ ने 3-2 से संविधान के 103वें संशोधन के पक्ष में फैसला सुनाया. हालांकि, चीफ जस्टिस यूयू ललित और जस्टिस रवींद्र भट्ट की राय EWS कोटा के खिलाफ थी. बाकी तीन जजों ने कहा EWS कोटा संविधान की मूल भावना के खिलाफ नहीं है.
